Catch the Vision!

Join us as we continue to seek God’s will in reaching people in the name of Jesus! This comes through a lot of avenues, but one special one that we are envisioning is through Family Life Center on our southern edge of our property.

The FLC will house a gym, a comfortable gathering area, a large classroom/meeting space and another classroom space. This piece of our property could become a central piece to the life and ministry of our church.  Would you join us in prayer? Would you be willing to help us raise the needed financial resources?

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our church office.

Blended – a new Student Ministries series

Join us beginning February 12th for a new series, BLENDED:

In a culture where there are no absolutes, blending beliefs from every sort of religious stream is common. Students are among the most susceptible to blending what they believe. This series helps students see culture through the lens of scripture.

This 5-week series will help students understand:

Where Truth Comes From
The Truth About Who the Real God Is
The Truth About Salvation and Jesus Among Other Gods

Student Ministries

Our student ministries aims to offer a lot of varied opportunities to grow and learn and build in community.  We meet for 3 regularly scheduled gatherings:

    • Sunday School – age appropriate classes for 7th-12th graders every Sunday at 11:00am
    • Student Small Groups – a interactive Bible study every Sunday at 6:00pm
    • Time Out – a fun, interactive time of games, worship, and a lesson aimed at developing followers of Christ.  Every Wednesday at 7:00pm

We also offer activities throughout the year such as camp, talent and sports competitions, movie nights, park activities, service projects and more.  For up-to-date information, visit www.tcfstudents.org or visit our facebook page.

Bible Reading Plan

Jesus answered, “It is written:‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ’ ’” – Matthew 4:4

Join in and grow by diving into God’s Word.  Use this plan: Bible Reading in a Year or within the Bible app from YouVersion (iOS & Android) you can customize a plan for your own tastes on your phone or tablet.

NOT A FAN. – A 4 week series

Fan: an enthusiastic admirer. In the Gospels, Jesus never seemed too interested in fans. Is this how we want to define our relationship with Him? An “enthusiastic admirer”? Close enough to Jesus to get the benefits but not so close to require sacrifice? Jesus was looking for followers. Not just any follower though, but a completely. committed. follower. How would things change this year if the next generation of TCF students lived as Jesus lived and loved the way He loved? This series will invite students and leaders to join the hundreds of people who have stepped across a line and said: I am not a fan.

Volunteer at Operation Christmas Child

We will once again be collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child (contact John Egbert if you have questions), but it doesn’t stop there.  For the 5th year in a row, we will be volunteering at the local processing center to send out the received packages around the world in time to bless children globally in the name of Jesus.

We only have 25 spots for a 6-10pm shift on November 29th.  Contact Pastor Troy if you have any questions or to sign up.  Participants must be at least 13 years old and will have to fill out a Volunteer Information Form.

Our Children’s church is a dedicated time of worship designed for children, grades 1-6, during the teaching portion of our Sunday morning 9:30 am service.  This is followed by a dedicated group of teachers leading age-appropriate Bible classes starting at 11:00 am.

quizzing-logoChildren’s Quizzing
is a Bible Study for children in grades 1-6. The philosophy of Children’s Bible Quizzing is Bible study. It is important to help children know what the Bible says and help them demonstrate biblical teachings in actual life situations. The goal of Children’s Bible Quizzing is for children to know the God of the Bible.  Sunday evenings at 6:00pm and Wednesdays at 7:00pm.  Contact Linda Hohstadt (den52lin@aol.com) for more information.

puppetPuppet Ministry
, called Master’s Hands, is designed to give our older children (4th grade and up) an opportunity to learn a great ministry skill that is both fun and creative.  This group performs throughout the year and practices every Sunday at 5:00 pm.  Contact Kris Schmidt (adidias7502@comcast.net) for more information.

Women’s Ministries

wmlogo-hires

Our women’s ministry seeks to connect women to each other and to God through Bible studies, outreach ministries and social events.  Our major events are the Women of Faith Conference in September and a retreat.  Other activities are being planned for this coming year.  We have three women’s groups that anyone is welcome to attend:

Three Women’s Bible Studies:

    • Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. at the church in the College/Career Classroom  led by Susan Schmidt.  The group is studying the book, Choose Joy, by Kay Warren.  The author shares the path to experiencing soul-satisfying joy no matter what you’re going through.  Joy is deeper than happiness, lasts longer than excitement, and is more stisfying than pleasure and thrills.
    • Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the church. We will take a look at Me, Myself & Lies by Jennifer Rothschilds.  This six-week DVD driven Bible study will encourage you to clean out the junk in your thoughts and replace these hidden negative thoughts and failures with positive truths from God’s word. Rather than struggling with self-esteem, body image, stress and other unhealthy thoughts and emotions learn to replace the lies you may have been telling yourself with the truth from God’s word.  This study will begin on Wed, 1/21 at 7 pm in room 211 with an introduction to the study and will be followed up by six weekly sessions.  There will be daily work each week.  The cost will be $15.

The Prayer Quilt Ministry meets the first Saturday of each from from 9 a.m. – noon in the church foyer. Contact Fran Spencer for more information or if you know of anyone in the church who is having surgery and would appreciate a quilt.
